I am looking to make a wall art piece and would like to utilize cotton fabric to have a built-in beautiful background. Do you think cotton can withstand a larger punch and yarn?

My name Is Donna, I haven’t punch needle before. I’ve learned very little with embroidery with a sewing needle when I was a young teen. It sounds easy with the right kind of materials and punch needles. I’ve been wondering with all the things you & others have said and shared, but don’t think I seen or I don’t understand like what to look for Is… My question Is, I have drawn on three pillow cases. And was wondering instead of using a hand held sewing needle for embroidery can It be done with a small embroidery punch needle? I do have some different needle sets I’ve ordered I am really anxious to start!!! And ready for maybe some challenges, beings I’m very new!!!!
